'Scenic Sunday rambles of 8-10 miles throughout the year in the beautiful countryside and on the coast. Convenient coach transport to and from these walks, and at the lunchtime stop. Wednesday walks of 4-8 miles throughout the year, usually accessible with public transport.'
'We are into walking, dining out, theatre, cinema, country pubs, barbecues, making friends and socialising. The group was called the Bournemouth Boghoppers 25 years ago when we took over from the original S.E. Dorset YHA Group. The nickname has stuck and has become our official title. We have no fixed age range but most of the members are in their forties, fifties & early sixties. We aim to have regular Sunday walks in the Purbecks, across Dorset and the New Forest. Please note that this group does not allow dogs on the walks. The walks are usually 7 to 10 miles. But we are not all about walking; we are very much a social group as well.'
Coastal, garden, seasonal walks and so on ...
'Hengistbury Head is a dramatic headland in Bournemouth situated to the south of Christchurch Harbour. It is an outstanding site for wildlife and archaeology and offers beautiful beaches and views across the New Forest, Isle of Wight and Purbecks ... '
'At any time of the year Poole and its neighbouring countryside provide some wonderful routes for walkers.'
'Situated on the north side of Christchurch Harbour, just below the confluence of the rivers Avon and Stour. The 65 hectare site has an unusual combination of habitats including salt marsh with creeks and salt pans, reed beds, freshwater marsh, gravel estuarine banks and sandy scrub.'
'Christchurch has an extensive range of guided walks and tours for you to enjoy and discover more about Christchurch's fascinating heritage and natural history'
'Learn how to recognise your trees with the Bournemouth Garden Tree Trail ... '

'Tropical Gardens, Winston Churchill’s near-death, R.L. Stevenson’s House, Smugglers and Seafront.'
'The Christchurch Coastal Path is 2.5 miles long and runs from the car park to Highcliffe Castle and on to the Green Flag award winning Steamer Point Woodland and Mudeford Quay ...' ALERT The Website cited here seems no longer. So I replaced the Link with one to the Saturday Walkers' Club.
’Our Health Walks are normally led by volunteer walk leaders throughout the Christchurch area. They run every week to help you establish a routine, and are ideal for beginners. Have a look to see if there is a walk near you, they are all free to attend.’
Working for a Round Harbour Trail 'There are now five way marked linear walks around the harbour and a sixth that will be way marked shortly. Each walk is described by a leaflet that can be bought from local tourist information offices or downloaded from the walks page of this web site where there are also another 13 circular walks highlighting some of the key points of the trail.
'The Definitive Map records the location and status of all recorded public rights of way. A Definitive Statement goes with the map and gives the start and end points and sometimes decription of the route.'
'The route I suggest is not "The Round Dorset Walk"; it is "A Round Dorset Walk". Whilst staying within the county boundary at all times, the route uses the boundary only as a reference and does not follow it slavishly, as that would mean missing out on some wonderful walking. Nor does it delve into the heartland to explore all that Dorset has to offer, for to do that would turn this walk into one of epic proportions.' ALERT Ths Website originally cited here seems no longer, so I have referenced a historical page on the LDWA Website as an alternative.
'Poole has a lot to offer for residents or visitors wishing to walk in the area. The diverse landscape offers beautiful beaches, open countryside, heathland, nature reserves, formal parks and gardens and a vibrant and historic town centre.'
