The Category Parish Walks is a subset of Particular Types of Walks in the UK.
'Four walks in the countryside in and around the villages of Aylesford, Blue Bell Hill and Eccles and connects the woodlands of Walderslade with the woodlands south of the M2. Leaflets available in the Parish Office ... This Trail is part of the [former] Valley of Visions Community Trails project, encouraging people to enjoy, explore and learn about their local area and surrounding countryside.'
Note that a PDF of the 'Aylesford Community Trail' no longer seems directly accessible via the Parish Council Website; nor via the Kent Downs AONB Site. But a Google search of the Title at the time of Review generated an archival PDF which could be downloaded.

Great Bradley is 'a small village on the Suffolk/ Cambridge border between the towns of Newmarket and Haverhill. There are only about 190 houses and 400 people in the village. Great Bradley comprises the main village and houses on the Thurlow Road and in East Green. There is evidence that the area has been lived in since the middle stone age about 5,000 years ago. "Bradley" is derived from "Broad Ley", the Old English (Anglo Saxon) meaning "broad wood or clearing"'.
'These walks have all been published in past issues of the "The Village News". They have been devised by "one man and his dog" who takes absolutely no responsibility for accuracy or for any injury or mishap that might befall any person who follows them. And please don't try to blame the dog!'
'Hambledon is a great area for walking as there is an extensive network of footpaths, mostly well-maintained and waymarked with yellow arrows on small disks provided by Hampshire County Council (bridleways have blue arrows). The Wayfarers Walk, a long distance path that goes right across Hampshire, goes through the village on its way from Soberton to Denmead.'
Rotherham Parish & Town Councils 'Modern Parish Councils were developed under the Local Government Act of 1894 where for the first time the Church was excluded from formal participation in local government. There are 8700 Parish Councils across England covering 15 million people and the numbers are increasing particularly in Urban areas. Currently there are 30 Parish and Town Councils in Rotherham of which three are classed as Parish Meetings. Nearly half of Rotherham's population live in a Parished area.'

A circular walk is provided in each parish, covering as many places of interest as possible. There is also an outer walk that circles the whole area for the more adventurous.'
'The Parish Council takes a keen interest in public footpaths in the village and liaises with Staffordshire County Council and local landowners, to try to keep the paths clear and accessible ... A few years ago, the Horticultural Society in association with Staffordshire County Council's Community Paths Initiative and Lichfield District Council's Countryside Project, published a set of 4 walk leaflets, which are still used today ... 'There are 14 footpaths in the village of Meldreth and each January we compile a survey of the condition of the footpaths and decide on an action plan to continue maintenance of the paths.'
'In 1996 the Linby and Papplewick parish paths partnership (P3) was created to maintain the footpaths and rights of way in the two parishes. Since then considerable work has been carried out - to upgrade the surface of the paths, provide stiles and waymarks, and to rebuild the ancient bridge over the River Leen. Funding from Nottinghamshire County Council and the Countryside Agency was used for the work to be carried out. Since 2010, all paths in Papplewick and Linby have been maintained directly by the County Council.'
'All about walking: walking around the village, walking to neighbouring villages. Oh, and walking to the pub ... We organise occasional public Parish Walks each year - everyone is welcome to come along.'
'Rocester village is just off the B5030, approximately 5 miles north-east of Uttoxeter and 7 miles south-west of Ashbourne and the Peak district. Rocester and its surrounding area is an ideal location for walking, being on the route of the Staffordshire Way and also the end of the Limestone Way. Both these walks connect with many other recognised and popular routes.’

The Botesdale section covers 6 miles and the Rickinghall section 5 miles ... St. Botolph’s Way is well signed and walkers can negotiate it by following the distinctive purple markers.'

In 1994 the Parish Council won the Rambler's Association Footpath Heritage trophy for the excellent state of its 19 miles of footpaths and bridleways. All paths are clearly marked with way signs and range from simple village walks to longer trips across the Commons.'
