'Extends the West Highland Way south to the centre of Glasgow, from Milngavie to Glasgow Heliport on the north bank of the River Clyde, where it can be linked to the longer Clyde Walkway that continues south from the city. The route follows, as much as possible, the three rivers of the Allander, Kelvin and Clyde, to form a "green link" from the bustling city to the countryside.'

Walkhighlands

'We don't have a full recent survey of this path, but it has been described as the best part of the Antonine Wall to walk on by a journalist and is relatively accessible.'

Heritage Paths

'Strathkelvin Railway Path is rail trail following the route of several dismantled railway lines extending from Gartcosh to Strathblane. The Northern Section follows the route of the Campsie Branch of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway which was extended as the Blane Valley Railway line and closed in 1951 (although some parts of the line were still used for freight into the '60s).[1] The Southern Section follows a branch of the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway. Starting in Kirkintilloch it runs south and currently terminates at the northern tip of Gartcosh; just before the original railway junction would have split east to Bedlay Colliery and south to Glenboig.

Heritage Paths

'Thomas Muir of Huntershill (1765–1799) was a leading light in "The Friends of the People", a political reform movement of the 1790s, when only a significant minority of Scotland's citizens had the right to vote. He was tried and found guilty of sedition and received the harsh sentence of being banished for 14 years to Botany Bay, Australia. In silencing the man they created a martyr, and a hero to many.'

Huntershill Village

'Starts at Milngavie passes through Mugdock Country Park, follows the shores of Loch Lomond, passing Ben Lomond, through Glen Falloch and Strathfillan, crossing Rannoch Moor, past Buachaille Etive Mor to the head of Glencoe, climbing the Devil’s Staircase, descending to sea level to cross the River Leven at the head of Loch Leven before entering Lairigmor and Glen Nevis and finishes at Gordon Square in Fort William.'
